ज्ञातुः इच्छाद्वेषप्रयत्नसुखदुःखानि॥
jñātuḥ icchā-dveṣa-prayatna-sukha-duḥkhāni.
Desire, aversion, volition, pleasure, and pain can only belong to a conscious Knower (Jñātṛ), never to a collection of non-conscious material parts.
Raw physical matter can spontaneously generate feelings of pleasure or pain without a conscious observer.
Flesh can transmit electrical impulses, but feeling pleasure or pain requires a conscious observer node to unpack the payload.
COGNITIVE PHILOSOPHY RUNTIME
